Aidan Toner

Toner, (Ballycastle and formerly Gortin, Tyrone) Died 10th January 2024. Peacefully at Antrim Area hospital surrounded by his loving family, Aidan R.I.P. beloved husband of Karen; loving father of Jan and the late Jamie R.I.P. father in law of Tom and much adored Granda of Rory, a dear brother of Rosemary, Margaret, Una, Nora, John, Ann, Loretta, and the late Monica, a much-loved uncle, son-in-law, brother-in-law and friend to many. 

N.B. Aidan’s wake will commence this evening, Thursday 11th at his home from 7:00 p.m.  Family and friends welcome, please allow family time from 10:00p.m. to 10:00a.m.

Funeral from his late residence 11 Caman Crescent, Ballycastle on Saturday 13th January at 9:30 a.m. to St. Patrick’s and St. Brigid’s Church, Ballycastle for Requiem Mass at 10.00a.m. Interment afterwards in adjoining cemetery. Aidan’s Requiem Mass can be viewed online by clicking HERE.

Acknowledgement Notice for the late Aidan Toner R.I.P. (Caman Crescent, Ballycastle)

Karen, Jan, Tom and the entire family circle of the late Aidan R.I.P. wish to express their sincere thanks to all those who sympathised with them in their recent bereavement.

The family wish to especially thank the kind relatives, friends, neighbours, and members of the wider community who helped them during this difficult time. Thanks to those who messaged, sent cards, called at the house and those who gathered along the route to the Church and attended the funeral, we are truly grateful.

A special thanks to Fr. Kevin McGuckien for his spiritual support, guidance and celebrating the Requiem Mass and to Canon Brian Daly for concelebrating and his friendship to Aidan.

Special thanks to all the medical personnel who attended Aidan and provided him with such a high standard of medical care during the last years of his life.

Thanks to the McFall Family for the for their beautiful musical accompaniment during the Requiem Mass, the church sacristan, those who prepared the grave and to the Community Rescue Service for their guard of honour. Sincere thanks to Tom and Eimear from Thyme & Co who provided refreshments afterwards in the crypt.

Finally, sincere thanks  Peter Dallat & Gerard McIlroy from PJ Dallat & Sons Funeral Directors for the high standard of care and the professional and dignified manner in which they carried out the funeral arrangements and the support they provided to the family during this difficult time.

We trust that this acknowledgement will be accepted by everyone as a token of our appreciation. It is comforting to know how much Aidan was loved by all those who came across him.
